"Between 1990 and 2010, Greene County has had twelve Federally Declared Disasters, tying for second throughout Missouri. In June 2010, Missouri was ranked number 10 in the nation for total number of disasters."
The Greene County Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) is a local group of public, private, and non-government organizations with the focus of assuring the most complete recovery for Greene County following a disaster.
The Greene County COAD meets quarterly. We focus on coordinating multiple agencies in:
- Community Disaster Education
- Enhanced response preparedness
- Case management recovery

The Long-Term Recovery Committee (LTRC) is a subcommittee under the Greene County COAD. The purpose is to oversee designated funds specifically for the recovery efforts of Greene County residents, where unmet needs remain.
911 Functional Needs Indicator Request Form: Springfield-Greene County 9-1-1 Emergency Communications offers a registry for those with functional needs in order to provide first responders with as much information as possible when responding to a call for help.
